If I had it my way, I would be barefoot all the time. I don’t like to have things on my feet. Alas, when you live in Western New York, this is not always possible. In fact, I just begrudgingly gave up my sandals for the season, only because snow actually had the nerve to fall. My hiking boots definitely are the only acceptable winter footwear in my book. (And I do keep them in my car during the other seasons for those days I decide to take off on a hiking adventure.) I admit I have never actually worn a pair of these boots, as I usually am more comfortable in men’s boots with my large feet. I love all things outdoors. In fact, this summer I spent most of my time at home out on my porch. It was perfect because I could cook out there, read a book, work on a crochet project, and even do all of my WAH things. It even was great when it was raining, because the rain doesn’t usually hit my porch. The only thing I hated was all of the bugs! With such a rainy season and the warmer weather lasting so much longer than usual, the bugs were relentless! And then they kept creeping into the house via the little screen tears that my darling kitten made. *sigh* Perhaps one of these is in order?

It’s funny how the smallest things can completely transport you back in time. For me, one of those is a heated hair brush. I grew up in our small apartment at the end of my parents’ store, which meant only one real bathroom for my mom, my sister, and myself to get ready in first thing in the morning. We would rotate in and out or try to do some of the primping in the powder room or even our own bedrooms. Wherever we got ready, one cardinal rule of the morning was to not touch Mom’s heated hair brush. 

I used to try to use it on occasion, but with my propensity towards long hair, I was more likely to make a tangled mess out of it. I also had a tendency to use all kinds of heated instruments for styling and gave all of that long hair lots of heat damage. Luckily nowadays, there are all kinds of products that are much better for long hair and don’t necessarily cause damage. Word has it this particular brush is an excellent choice for all lengths.
