Inspired in part by Love, Come Softly, this novel explores the challenges of second marriages and dealing with step-children during the crucial years of puberty and teenage angst. A college professor coming up shortly for the huge tenure decision, Joy finds herself falling apart as her career and her home issues deteriorate and collide.

  1. Thanks to my host for this opportunity. Also, thank you to all who visit and comment. I look forward to your thoughts.

    1. I based the setting on the community of Gulf Shores Alabama, a Beach Community that I have visited and enjoyed for many years myself.

    1. I do have a couple of ideas for the third book in the series. The second book is already being edited and almost ready to go. The second one is called song of sugar Sands. For the third one I am thinking of doing a case of some missing small children from a birthday party in the same beach town.

  2. I’ve read up on this book and I know you talk a little about drug abuse. Were you a little afraid to talk about something that controversial especially if you’re writing for a Christian audience?

    1. Maybe a little. However I believe that Christians are subject to the same temp tations as non-christians and that it is important not to bury our heads in the sand but to face the challenges and think of ways of dealing with them positively.
